Fellow
RV8 member, Charles Peers, says "On this rally on Sunday
19th May 2019, we drive our tractors on a route to and from
a field in Fingest, (½ mile up the road from the Chequers
pub), on a route of some 23 miles over all terrains through
woods, across fields, and rough tracks, in all weathers without
any protection, only natural air conditioning. We also have
to drive some 20 miles to and from the site making a total of
up to 63 miles. Anyone is welcome to come to the start and finish
field, where the local vicar blesses all the tractors, before
we leave at 9:30am, we are then scheduled to return about 4pm,
or you can join us for a barbeque lunch at Fawley Hill Railway
station by kind permission of Lady McAlpine at approximately
1.00pm. We are prepared to make this sacrifice in aid of
the above very worthy charity, which for us in rural areas
is a valuable asset, but as many of will realize it relies entirely
on donations and sponsorships for its income so we are asking
for any contributions to help us on the way to raise some
meaningful funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA)".
Charles adds "I
am after your hard earned money or savings to support me and
my son Tom by sponsoring us to raise funds for the Thames Valley
Air Ambulance. I am sure you are all aware that they are a charity,
and rely entirely on public donations, events such as ours,
and general fund raising to keep running. Over the last ten
years this organisation has raised over £48,000, and this
average is increasing year on year. Tom and I between us made
over £1,000 last year thanks to all those of you who supported
us most generously, please help us do the same again this year.
I have set up a Just Giving page so please use this
if it is simpler for you but whatever dont forget!"
