Gresham
College speeches by Vernon Bogdanor on Brexit
Professor Vernon Bogdanor noted early in his speech that "It's
been said everything that could be said on Brexit has already been
said but it's not yet been said by everybody"! Nonetheless his
views are thoughtful and for many well informed.
Vernon Bogdanor CBE is Emeritus Gresham Professor of Law, current
Visiting Gresham Professor of Political History, Research Professor
at King's College London, a Fellow of the British Academy and an Honorary
Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. Prior to 2010,

Brexit
and the Future of Britain
Professor Vernon Bogdanor speaking on 13th March 2019
At this time it appears that Britain will leave the European
Union on 29th March 2019 at 11 pm British time, 12 midnight
Continental time. How will Britain fare outside the European
Union? And how will Brexit affect British politics? Will the
Britain of 2020 become like the Britain of 1972, the year before
we joined the European Community, precursor of the European
Union - or has our 46 year membership of European institutions
led to irreversible changes in our constitution and system of
government?

Britain
and the EU: In or Out - one year on
Professor Vernon Bogdanor speaking on 29th June 2017
One year ago, Britain decided, in the Referendum, upon its future
relationship with the European Union. What have been the consequences
of that decision? How is the relationship like to develop? Did
we make the right decision? This lecture discusses the implications
of the 2016 Referendum.
