Breedon took His MGBGTV8 (Teal Blue 1753) on a MG Car Club Yorkshire Centre
93 mile Daffodil Run on Saturday 1st April just to stretch its legs a bit after
a slow long cold winter in South Yorkshire. The run started just north west of
York went into parts of the dales and then back to finish at the Yorkshire Air
Museum. Nothing much unusual about that but when I was asked by the chap organising
the run to act as the photographer for the day as well as trying to enjoy the
run, there was no point in not taking advantage when the opportunity arose. I
chased an opportunity to put a selection of cars together in front of some of
the aircraft on display and somehow managed to get my V8 right at the front centre
of the group of MGs in position for the photo! More | Mike
noted "an added interest from my point of view was the fact that when in
the RAF I actually worked on the site when it was RAF
Elvington". He added the "on speaking to the Liaison Manager for
the Yorkshire Air Museum he is keen to find ways of getting car clubs to use the
facilities just as 60 cars on the Yorkshire Centre's Daffodil run did. On arrival
you can have your own parking place away from normal parking and possibly arrange
a selection of cars as we did around some of the aircraft for a photo shoot. Not
sure if V8 Register members are aware of this possibility but in any case it's
a good place to see for anyone living near enough to pay a visit". |
