Organisers of some of the biggest classic car events in the UK are furious with the Formula 1 coordinators for a last minute change of their F1 plans involving rescheduling the Azerbaijan Grand Prix to 25th June 2017! That has resulted in a chaotic reshuffle of several major UK classic car event dates.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Silverstone Classic are now taking place on different dates to those planned and promoted for months. Many tickets had been sold for the events on the original dates and many of those ticket holders will now have to cancel and make new hotel bookings, travel arrangements, holiday arrangements at their places or work and for some overseas visitors also change flight bookings. Online media postings by many fans affected by the changes are reaching "white heat"!

The consequential disruption to the event planning, promotion and ticket sales has also caused event organisers a huge amount of work which will cause the events additional expense and possibly loss of income too. They say "it's a massive inconvenience".

The arrogance of the F1 "gravy train" showing blind self interest and total disregard for the wider motorsport community is felt by many as sickening. Many classic car enthusiasts feel the F1 Circus is simply a commercial game with very little connection, relevance or concern for the interests of real motorsport interests.
