With recent concerns over the EU Roadworthiness Directive and how the Department for Transport will adopt an over-rigid interpretation of EU-led proposals which seem heavily influenced by European-style of very rigid vehicle originality specifications, there is very good news in the latest issue of Classic Car Weekly. Chris Grayling, the Minister of Transport, is quoted in the article as saying "the Goverment will do all it can to support classic car owners - the idea that historic vehicles could be driven off the road by future legislation is "for the birds". He is for the rolling tax-exemption and will "oppose legislation that would hinder classics being used for enjoyment".

Chris Grayling is also quoted as "hankering after a Ford Mustang" - so someone who understands the enjoyment that comes from a V8 powered classic!
