year's V8 Technical Day was held on Saturday 21st May 2016 in the John Thornley 
Suite at Kimber House at Club Office in Abingdon.

attending the V8 Technical Day 2016 enjoyed a series of presentations and then 
following a buffet lunch travvled to Steventon near Abingdon for a tour of the 
Frontline Development's factory. The programme for the day covered various 
aspects of owning a an MGV8, with six principal speakers::

 Dave Pearce, with the support of Doug Bond (both MGV8 members), 
provided an elightening explanation of how members can attend one the well managed 
track days put on the MGs on Track (MGoT). Dave Pearce gave an overview of how 
to take part in a track day event with fellow MG enthusiasts, including costs, 
equipment venues and a couple of short videos showing how driving on a track is 
both safe and fun.

 Fancy a trip to Le Mans 24 Hours event in June?

Aldridge gave a presentation on attending the Le Mans 24 Hours race at La Sarthe 
covering costs, travel options, camping or or accomodation arrangement and advice 
on attending the event sites. More
 
 MG 
RV8 - the Development Story
 Chris Allan gave a presentation based on 
a book he and George Wilder are currently researching for publication in 2017. 
Chris looked at Whole Vehicle Testing which will be one of the chapter headings. 
WVT fell into three categories: durability and Reliability tests, specific tests, 
destructive tests and specific and Functional assessments. He gave details of 
a number of these tests which are all covered in some detail in the book. Extract

 Technical 
Updates
 Nic Houslip provided brief updates on ethanol fuel issues and 
ndews that a small modern relay had been found that can fit inside the case of 
a 6RA relay fitted to an MGBGTV8. This will enable owners to retain the external 
appearance of originality whilst having a a more reliable, modern relay in the 
engine bay. More

of the MGV8 Price Guide update recently 
released on the V8 website.
 
 Tour of Frontline Developments factory
 Our 
host [name of fellow at Frontline and his colleague] provided a guided tour of 
the factory with their new Mazda powered MGBs and the bespoke seating and trim..
