The V8 Roadster that came closest to being regarded as the car the MG Factory might have made won Car of the Show prize on the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Club stand at the recent NEC show. This exceptional car was built by Don Hayter who was Chief Design & Development Engineer at the MG Plant in 1973, responsible for the design of the MGB body and later the MGBGTV8 and stayed with MG until the closure of the MG Factory in 1980. He remained passionately enthusiastic about this iconic car and built this MGB V8 Roadster conversion. Don finally decided to sell the car a couple of years ago and it was bought by Edward Vandyk. Alongside is Steve Kirby who organised the stand and Edward provided the car as an exhibit..
