meeting on Saturday 25th April 2015 Victor Rodrigues (above right) reports
that "Fritze Gertsch attended our first meeting in 2015 with his MGV8,
one of the seven Pre-Production LHD Factory built MGBGTV8s (GD2D2DUD-101G) built
in December 1972."
Third annual Swiss-MGV8/IG meeting on 25th
July 2015 On Saturday 25th July we had our 3rd Annual Swiss-MGV8/IG meeting,
this time hosted by Fritze Gertsch and his family members. Eleven V8s were at
the event - two RV8s, two MGBV8 conversions and six MGBGTV8s. After an enjoyable
lunch in the village of Gibswil we had a privately organised visit to the Bäretswil
Motorcar Museum showing the history of Swiss Motoring in the past 100 years.
Our
report has
more photos taken at this event in the countryside near Zurich. Victor Rodrigues
adds "we were pleased to see our V8 friend Thomas Studer (above right
& centre) with his outstanding MGB V8 Roadster in Damask Red (above left),
originally converted by David Franklin at his Downed garage near Bristol."
Thomas was a founder member of the V8 Register at the first V8 AGM at Siverstone
in 1979 and for many years has owned the Pre-Production LHD North American spec
MGBGTV8 buit in January 1973 in Damask (GD2D2DUD 109G). |
