preparing the Tour of Churches around Watlington on Saturday 3rd October 2015,
the idea of having dinner at the Red Lion in the village of Chalgrove, just a
few miles from the nearby village of Chiselhampton where the tour starts, seemed
a good way of ending what promises to be a most interesting day. Some members
travelling long distances are staying overnight at the Coach & Horses in Chiselhampton
which offers good bed and breakfast accommodation. The Red Lion is a freehouse.
Usually
our end of season event is a curry night which had been planned for a popular
curryhouse at Bourne End near Marlow, some 15 miles to the south east of the churches
tour. The idea of moving the dinner to the welcoming pub at Chalgrove near where
the churches tour will begin seems a sensible idea. |
