Fellow

7th March for £12,320. The estimate was £6,000 to £9,000. Looks
like the estimate was wrong?"

 | At
the recent Historics at Brooklands auction on Saturday 7th March an MGBGTV8
sold for a hammer price of £12,320. The car was a Factory V8 (Harvest
Gold 0882) with 107,602 recorded miles offered with an estimate of £6,000
to £9,000. As always it is difficult to judge the condition of the car without
a physical inspection but it appears likely to be a good Condition 2 example,
possibly slipping into Condition 1 class. The car is VED exempt. Our recently
updated price guide suggests £17,250 (Condition 1) and £9,750 (Condition
2). The car shows the dreaded chrome overcills and it carries a V8 badge on the
offside wing, often an indication of a respray by a workshop not aware that Factory
V8s only had one V8 badge on a wing and that was on the nearside. The car is on
the V8 Database registered many years ago by a member in Buckinghamshire. |
