New
13 part classic car series on Channel 5 starts this evening - Thursday 5th February For
many V8 enthusiasts, who enjoy the understated qualities of what has been an undiscovered
classic car for many years, the talk of heated interest by "A-listers"
and "upmarket passion and increasingly deep pockets" is a turn off but
the news item does add they will be "looking at the more modest machines
that give you all the nostalgic feel-good . . for a mere £5,000. Clearly
they have not seen the Anglia Auctions results for three V8s at the weekend. More

 | A
new television series will put
the world of classic cars in your front room and the promoters say there's not
an overblown stunt in sight. A new 13 part series will make its debut on Channel
5 on Thursday 5th February at 7pm fronted by Quentin Willson and Jodie
Kidd.
Keith Belcher has
spotted an item on the Classic Cars for Sale website reporting a promotional video
clip for the series. They say Sir Stirling Moss will be joining classic car fans
across Britain in tuning into The Classic Car Show programme this evening. The
16-time Grand Prix winner and Mille Miglia champion said: what they are
doing with this show is impressive, it is going to introduce the world of classic
cars to a whole new global audience. Video
An
MGBGTV8 features in the promotional video flying by on a straight country road
with Quentin Willson saying "Ding Dong!" That car appears to be a Green
Mallard press road test V8 which featured in the Autocar roadtest on 16th August
1973 as the model was launched. | V8
