Jodie Kidd and Quentin Willson front classic car show
Keith Belcher says "It looks like the V8 will be included which could do great things for V8 values . . . look what happened to Series 1 Land Rovers after the "For the love of cars" episode."

The MGBGTV8 featured carries the registration plate HOH 902 L which we believe is the Green Mallard press road test car which featured in the Autocar roadtest on 16th August 1973 as the model was launched. It has been owned for many years by John Fry in Worcestershire.

For many V8 enthusiasts, who enjoy the understated qualities of what has been an undiscovered classic car, the talk of heated interest by "A-listers" and "upmarket passion and increasingly deep pockets" is a turn off but the news item does add they will be "looking at the more modest machines that give you all the nostalgiac feel-good . . for a mere £5,000."

Keith Belcher spotted an item on the aol.cars website yesterday with news of a new series called the Classic Car Show coming on Channel 5. The news item says "classic cars have gone from being a labour of love for oily-handed tinkerers to an upmarket passion for connoisseurs with increasingly deep pockets – along with a handful of shrewd investors. Helping to cater for the newfound interest in the most beautiful, quirky and fascinating historic machines of yesteryear is The Classic Car Show, fronted by supermodel and sometime racer Jodie Kidd and Quentin Willson, ex-Top Gear presenter and classic car aficionado. Arriving on Channel 5 in early February, this global TV series will focus
on the most exotic of classic cars, with jaunts around the world to test out the most striking models from motoring history on some of the most exciting roads on the planet.

This 13-part series will feature a host of famous A-list faces and celebrate the iconic cars, personalities and events that make up the classic car world – a multi-billion pound industry where values are rocketing faster than property or modern art.
With 13 hour-long episodes, the series will delve deep into the rapidly evolving classic car market, looking at both the prestige machines that can cost up to US$50 million as well as rather more modest machines that give you all the nostalgic feel-good factor of much more expensive classics for a mere £5,000.

Shot in Top Gear-esque cinematic quality, The Classic Car Show will talk to passionate classic car fans including Steve Coogan and Jennifer Saunders along with new and old racers in Stirling Moss and Bruno Senna plus rapper Tinie Tempah and model David Gandy. Features will include a celebration of the Ford Mustang's 50th anniversary in California, Jodie Kidd taking part in the long-distance Italian Mille Miglia race in a Jaguar XK120 and Bruno Senna testing out 10 classics on track at the historic Brooklands circuit in Surrey.
