Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is a national institution dedicated
to maintaining ageing aircraft in a modern world - a familiar concept to a classic
car owner! The latest lecture in the MGB Register series welcomes Warrant Office
Kevin Ball, Senior Engineering Officer for the RAF BBMF who will describe the
history and organisation of the Flight which consist of Spitfires, Hurricane,
Lancaster and Dakota aeroplanes focusing on the work carried out to keep these
iconic aircraft flying. He will outline problems that occur operating ageing aircraft
in a modern military airworthiness environment and give an insight into the aircraft's
safety case. Kevin joined the RAF in 1980 and in over 33 years of service he has
gained a huge amount of experience, so come and hear his fascinating stories.
