early pre-production development MGBGTV8 (Glacier White 0096) which was up for
auction at the Silverstone Classic Sale on Saturday 26th July 2014 is reported
to have been sold for £9,315 - see the result
published on the Silverstone Auctions website alongside. The estimate in the
auction particulars was £10,000 to £14,000.
The auction was
held in the Wing at Silverstone Circuit. We understand that Mario Kloostra's son
attended the auction and that he reports the hammer price was £8,100 to
which was added a 12.5% premium (£1,012.50) with 20% VAT (£202.50)
on the premium.
The car was previously owned by Clive Wagerfield and was
featured in the wonderful MG90 Timeline 2014 display at Silverstone in June 2014

Our
updated MGBGTV8 price guide released earlier this year has a tax exempt chrome
bumpered MGBGTV8 at £15,250 (Condition 1) and £8,700 (Condition 2).
A premium for the early pre-production development status of this car had been
