Ashby spotted an MGBGTV8 in the Anglia Car Auctions' list today.
The details given were:
Glacier
white with original blue trim. Ziebart body protection from new. MoT till June
2015 and tax exempt. New front and rear springs, carbs overhauled all gauges and
clock working, sunroof recent and new outer trim 90,000 miles. Working overdrive,
stainless exhaust, original manifolds and air filters. Service history back to
1980, 3 owners last since 2003. Engine number 271 and commission number 209. Estimate:
£11,000 - 13,000.
Tracing the car's identity from our records
via the engine number shows this car is in fact Glacier White 0339 - a
car which has not been registered with the V8 Register so we have no idea of its
history or condition. | Update

Ashby says he has seen the auction results and the MGBGTV8 fetched £11,550
which included the buyer's premium and VAT. That price was at the lower end of
the estimate of £11,000 to £13,000 in the auction particulars. You

updated earlier this year indicates the typical prices for a tax exempt chrome
bumper MGBGTV8 are £15,250 (Condition 1) and £8,700 (Condition 2)
which suggests the auction price was midway between the Condition 1 and 2 prices.
