Wet
and dry layouts for MG90 at Silverstone
As
the F1 Grand Prix is held soon after the Club's annual event at Silverstone, the
Circuit managers are keen to avoid disfigurement and damage to the grassed area
. The geology at Silverstone presents a particular difficulty if it rains - underneath
the turf there is a serious layer of clay which stops the waterlogged grass draining,
so if we have serious wet weather before MG90 then the Circuit manager may declare
a wet layout - this means there can be no parking on the grass and MGs
arriving are scattered all over the central area to park. If it's a dry layout
then we should have a dedicated V8 parking area adjacent to the V8 Marquee.

MG90 is only a few weeks away now
so what will the V8 Register contribute to the event and where will MGV8 enthusiasts
be able to meet up with fellow V8 enthusiasts at the Club's annual MG90 weekend
meeting at Silverstone? There will be a range of events with a useful base - the
V8 Marquee - providing a meeting place and a warm welcome with free tea, coffee
and cakes.

is a popular V8 gathering for members on their way to Silverstone for the Club's

Informal V8 Supper at the Three Conies Inn
Join fellow
V8 members for an informal supper in a private dining room at the Three Conies
Inn at Thorpe Mandeville, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX17 2EX. The village is
north of Brackley which is on the A43 to the west of Silverstone. All Club members
welcome together with their friends. Booking a place at the V8 Supper is essential.
