Richard Withington, who is organising the V8 Northumberland Tour 2014 over the long weekend of Friday 19th to Monday 22nd September 2014, reports he is "delighted to note that we now have 28 cars. My original target was 30 and I provisionally booked 30 rooms, although Holiday Inn have said they can make a couple more available at the same rate if we need them". The feeling is around 30 cars is probably the optimum number for an event like this so the last two places for a car and fellow members is now on offer - don't miss your 'last chance' as bookings will close once those two places are taken up. Northumberland is an area rich in history and with picturesque countryside and coastline. It has a great deal to offer the visitor yet is relatively free of the tourist crowds that clog the Lake District on the other side of the Pennines. The Tour will be based at the four star Holiday Inn at the village of Seaton Burn, about 6 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Access is easy from the A1 or A19.
