Any
news on a V8 stolen in 1986?
If
you do a search for this vehicle using our V8 Grapevine website you will see it
mentions "latest registration update 1st January 2008" which might puzzle
you. This date appears by default for all data in the V8 database prior to that
date because we had a new V8 database system created at that time. For the earlier
registration data (up to the end of 2007) the actual date of the latest registration
update could not be carried over from the old database system.

V8 enthusiast John
Fry has been in touch with a copy of an advert from a magazine in December 1986
seeking information on a stolen MGBGTV8 saying "if the car is on V8 Register,
I wonder whether the existing keeper is aware!"
On checking the V8
database the car is recorded there by David Brown who posted the advert seeking
information on his car. There has been no subsequent registration of an MGBGTV8
or MGV8 conversion with that registration number or engine or gearbox numbers.
Has
anyone any information on the whether the car - Damask 0164 - was recovered or
has been traced?
DVLA vehicle enquiry A
search on the DVLA website shows the car with the VRN JOW 459 L is currently "unlicenced"
and the last road tax expired on 1st October 1987.
