Beware
of scam scum wanting to buy your car
This
has all the signs of a classic scam so anyone selling a classic car needs to be
very careful and ask for the person's full name, postal address, the name and
branch of his bank (so you can do a status check) and his phone contacts. It's
likely that they will back off at that stage. If you get an unsatisfactory response
from them it is better to terminate further contact. Nic
Houslip comments "I have had a couple of emails almost the same as this when
selling a car. The guy sometimes claims he is a marine engineer, or an oil worker
based in Malaysia or somewhere far away from you. He is always buying the car
for his brother. The best thing is to ignore his email and DO NOT send him any
personal details."

advertising cars on various online sites, including the MGV8s for Sale pages on
the V8 website, report they have had a suspect email from someone expressing interest
in their car. Below is a recent example received on Monday, 14 April 2014 from
