Suart Mumby, a longstanding MGA enthusiast has recently acquired this car and says "you may recall that I bought Dave Wellings' Black MGBGTV8 in 2008 and sold it in 2010 because my wife was unenthusiastic about travelling in it, which kind of put the kibosh on my intention to use it as a supplement to my MGA for Continental touring. I replaced the V8 with a TF 160 on the same day as parting with the V8, but I was unhappy with the driving experience. I sold the TF last July and took delivery of the RV8 last Sunday. I was fortunate to hear about this unadvertised car by word of mouth from a local MG Car Club member. It was only 20 minutes down the road from me.

Unfortunately it has suffered from a lack of TLC during its last five years but the attraction, of course, was the colour. I now need to fettle it back to how it should be. I should hasten to add that my wife loves the car and, being a convertible, she will be happier with it than with the MGBGTV8; otherwise it will be the wife I'll sell and keep the car!"
Stuart plans to meet up with an earlier owner of this RV8 and put together the history of the car for the RV8 archive project which Alan Rennie has volunteered to work on as our RV8 Archivist.
Later Stuart mentioned "the main purpose of the short outing that day and visit to the canal was to mark the car's 20th Birthday, having been first registered on 19th February 1994. That photo then, will be its official 20th birthday photo in the car's history file."
