V8 Bulletin Board review

The aim of the new V8BB launched in December 2012 is to attract good quality information and support through the topics and responses posted on the V8BB in terms of both style and content. Whilst the V8BB is operated on an "open to all" basis for viewing the threads, access to post messages or responses is a "member only" benefit. This policy is supported by a majority of V8 members who have responded to the V8 Members Survey 2013.

By the end of 2013 there were 183 members who had joined and held a V8BB Registered User Account enabling them to post messages on the V8BB.

The present V8 Bulletin Board was launched a year ago and has seen 201 topics posted to the V8BB which have attracted 968 messages from fellow members as responses. The number of views of the webpages with the messages on those topics was 135,375 - an average of over 11,281 a month or 376 a day. Over the year the figure has steadily risen month by month and by November 2013 the V8BB attracted 28,392 views, or over 945 a day. By close to the end of December 2013 there had been over 28,600 views or 986 a day.

Two related topics have attracted the most replies and views - a thread called "ECUmate diagnostic test unit on eBay" launched by Simon Austin in Canada on 26th June with 14 replies and 2,746 views and then "RV8 cable & plug to connect to Testbook" launched for Edgar Ljone in Norway on 14th July which saw 13 replies and 4,143 views. These topics remain of interest to RV8 enthusiasts and we hope contributors will provide some useful RV8NOTES in the New Year. The V8BB enables fellow MGV8 enthusiasts around the World to seek information and help from fellow members and share views and their experiences on many topics, not least technical issues.
