 | Montreuil
is a fascinating walled, hilltop town with charming buildings, thriving shops
and splendid bars and restaurants. It's just beyond Boulogne, 10 minutes from
Le Touquet and it's a short drive time from Calais, so it makes it ideal for an
overnight taste of France. The Chateau atop the town and set on it's defensive
ramparts was the headquarters of General Haig in the first World War. The surrounding
countryside and nearby coast are lovely. | Jon
says "we are using the Shuttle for ease of crossing and loading of low slung
MGs! Impervious to the weather, we'll be in France 35 minutes from leaving Folkestone
and another 40 minutes easy driving to our Base, The Hotel Hermitage set in the
centre of Montreuil. The Hotel is famed for hosting classic car groups, and indeed
welcomed our own V8 Register recently."
