Successful
search for a pair of cast iron exhaust manifolds
In
mid-November Howard Guiney requested an advert on the V8 Spares for sale seeking
a pair of cast iron exhaust manifolds for his MGBGTV8. He has just been in touch
to say he has found a pair and mentions the contacts he had from fellow members
in response to the advert.

Guiney says "a quick note to inform you that I have just acquired an undamaged
pair of exhaust manifolds for my BGT V8 restoration; they just require the studs
drilling out and re-tapping. In response to a wanted advert on the V8 Spares for
sale webpage I had several emails | indicating
where I may get some and many more saying I’d have more luck finding hens'
teeth! In the end I found them via a friend whose father has had them in his garage
for twenty five plus years after breaking a factory V8 in the 90s. Now if I could
just find a set of new V8 Dunlop composite wheels!"
Good news -
some all alloy replacement V8 wheels
Well there is some good news on V8
wheels. Clive Wheatley is at an advanced stage of sourcing a supply of new replacement
wheels for Factory MGBGTV8s which are all alloy with an alloy centre like
the original Dunlop composite wheel but, instead of a steel rim, the rim will
also be in alloy. The new wheels will be difficult to distinguish from the original
Factory fitted wheels so will be a real alternative to either the major cost of
refurbishing corroded steel rimmed V8 wheels or the difficulty of finding a good
secondhand set. Details of these new alloy wheels should be available early in
