 | On
seeing the recent NEWS item about theautomatic road toll system with windscreen
tags, Nic Houslip said "I spent a lot of time driving in Europe on 2001/2
and devised a small tool to pay the tolls. It consisted of a small shallow Fray
Bentos pie dish on a stick about 15 long, with a magnet to hold the ticket
and notes in place. I simply drive up to the toll booth, wound down the passenger
window and handed the cash and ticket to the cashier in my device. The change
was just dropped into the tin. I think I still have it in the garage. It made
a lot of cashiers at the toll booths laugh!" |
Later
Nic was in touch to say "I found it in the garage - picture attached. If
anyone is contemplating a solo trip to France it is available for loan."
Chris Hunt Cooke's response was "Wow you should donate that to the
Design Council!"
