 | Marlborough - the layout of the town is impressive and the
architecture interesting. It has a wide centre providing both good vistas and
very convenient parking. But there is another major attraction - the Polly Tea
Rooms. Here you can enjoy some of the finest cream teas and ice creams.
 | Memorable
MG Routes seriesThis is the first Memorable MG Route in a new
series launched in the revived Safety Fast! This route is from Newbury to Castle
Combe along the old A4 through Marlborough, Calne and Chippenham. For sheer driving
pleasure the A4, at times of relatively light traffic, takes a great deal of beating.
In many places the road is open with long sweeping bends and occasionally you
can still see the characteristic "three lane" feature so familiar from
an earlier motoring age. There are many places of interest along the route from
country houses and estates to ancient stone circles and mounds together with some
enticing refreshment stops. (1.9.07)
 | | A
new series called Memorable MG Routes has been launched Memorable MG Routes are not simply
about the tactile pleasure of driving the road, particularly in an MG, but they
are also about the interest along the route from the views on the road, places
to visit, sights to see and of course refreshment at tea shops and pubs!
