- MGLive! 2016 Carl Coxall provided his RV8 for the display on the
V8 Register stand in the Main Marquee at MGLive! 2016 which attracted many visitors
over the weekend. A popular topic with many V8 enthusiasts was how V8 prices are
on the move shown by our price guide update in May. With Carl above are Ken Clayton
(elected V8 Tours Coordinator at the V8 AGM) and Nic Houslip. The refreshments
at the V8 Marquee included a selection of homemade cakes which were popular with
V8 enthusiasts together with the seating providing an opportunity to rest up and
chat with fellow members. See our photo

- reports on the MGLive! 2015 week of events and weekend As
usual the V8 Register had a V8 Marquee with a warm welcome with refreshments and
comfortable seating and in the Club's Main Marquee, a display of an RV8 provided
by Nic Houslip who regularly uses it for track days. The theme for the Main Marquee
this year was "MGs involved in competition". The Club Chairman announced
the presentation of the Club's Nuffield Cup to the V8 Register for providing support
and services for V8 enthusiasts, recruiting new members and assisting other registers
over the years. See our MGLive!

- V8 Register's display in the Club's Main Marquee at MG90 When
the MGBGTV8 was launched in August 1973 it featured at the Earls Court Motor Show
up on a ramp in a dramatic position. That car, Citron 798, is owned today by fellow
V8 Register member Robert MacGillivray who offered to bring his car down from
Dumfries & Galloway so it could be on display at MG90 at Silverstone. MG90

- V8 Register's 35th Anniversary Year To mark the 35th anniversary
of the creation of the V8 Register in 1978 and the launch of the MGBGTV8 model
in August 1973, there was a programme of interesting anniversary events which
proved very popular. The programme included a V8 Technical Day, visits to country
houses, the launch of MGV8 by David Knaowles, and the V8 Anniversary Dinner. One
event was a V8 Two Day Highland Tour in August through Glen Shiel and Wester Ross
and then on to Assynt. It was based at Dundonnell in the Northwest Highlands and
followed the successful European Event of the Year based at Aviemore organised
by the Caledonian Centre. V8 35th Anniversary reports

- Hook Norton lunch launches the V8 weekend at MGLive! 2011 This
year the lunch was moved from the Pear Tree Inn in Hook Norton because that pub
was undergoing a make-over prior to a new tenancy. The Sun Inn made the V8 group

- new event format as "MGLive!" and a popular dyno at the V8 Marquee The
innovations for MGLive!, the revitalised annual event at Silverstone, were tremendous
- not least the display of MGs in the Clubs main marquee, the Coys auction
which included many MGs with two V8 powered cars and a dyno providing power runs
for members roadgoing MGs. Fortunately the weather was good and dry underfoot
so the V8s were parked up in great numbers alongside the familiar V8 marquee,
the meeting point for V8 enthusiasts. Well over a hundred MGV8s arrived on both
days. Report |

- V8 Gathering at MG Car Club International MG Weekend at Silverstone After
some five years of dry meetings at Silverstone, the Club's annual International
MG Meeting 2007 at Silverstone was wet and very muddy underfoot. The ground was
so waterlogged that parking on the grass adjacent to the marquee was banned and
was switched to a section of the Club straight nearby. There was the usual V8
Marquee which fortunately was much larger than usual this year providing plenty
of shelter from the elements! Inside V8 enthusiasts found a warm welcome and refreshments.
