            in 1978, John Dupont, has sent in some photos of his visiting Gate 
            3 at the MG Plant in Abingdon two days after the Plant closed for

                    after these famous gates at the MG Plant in Abingdon closed 
                    for the final time on Friday 24th October 1980, John Dupont 
                    and his father parked up by Gate 3 on Sunday with their then 
                    new MGB Roadster and John's MGBGTV8 (Teal Blue 0534) which 
                    was 7 years old at the time. John was a founder member of

                  meeting of the V8 Register was held at the Crossroads Inn at 
                  Weedon Bec on the A5 north of Towcester 
                  on the Saturday of the MG Car Club's annual meeting at Silverstone 
                  in May 1979.
