Remember
the Spice Girls? Ginger Spice, the girl in the Union Jack dress?
That was, or is, Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) who is married
to the boss of Red Bull Racing Christian Horner. Keith Belcher
says "she is a car nut, an MGB nut, to boot. Apparently
when he was a little girl her father was a car dealer. She remembers
those days fondly; at that time, she had a favourite toy red
sports car.
When she received her first Spice Girls pay check the first
thing she bought was a bright red 1967 MGB Roadster NBL
825E for £15,000. Later in 1998 she left the Spice Girls
and wanted shake off her past. Her MGB was sold for £8,500
with other Spice Girls stuff, the proceeds going to charity.
She later regretted selling the MGB. She later married Christian.
In 2016 he searched out that very car, which luckily was still
with the 1998 auction buyer and bought it. He then presented
it to Geri for her birthday". |
