Several
years ago Keith Belcher recalls being told that Dame Shirley
Bassey, the well known Welsh singer, had once owned an MGB GT.
Research shows that she may well have owned a Primrose Yellow
MGC GT registration number YGJ 345G.
The car was reviewed in the March 2006 issue of Classic &
Sports Car. The owner at that time, Mike Van Oostrum, said he
bought a C and when he applied for a Heritage Certificate it
showed the first owner was in fact Shirley Bassey. The
car is currently taxed and MOTd out there.
