"Well, I never knew that!"
One of the first jobs Tony Blackburn had was as a disk
jockey on the MV Mi Amigo, anchored offshore and transmitting
under the banner Radio Caroline. He recently said "One
shore leave (we worked two weeks on, one week off, and the first
priority was to make up for the lack of female company during
our weeks on board), I vividly remember driving past the
Houses of Parliament in my new MGB sports car and rather
cheerfully thinking what an awful lot of problems we were causing
for the politicians inside."
